Title A name given to the resource Beverley Ann Felske Collection Description An account of the resource The collection was compiled by Beverley Ann Felske (Evans) (July 13, 1938 —December 12, 2020). Beverley (Bev) Felske was a founding Director on the inaugural board of directors for the British Columbia Ringette Association, which introduced ringette to the province. Bev was born in Mountain Park, Alberta, later residing in Murrayville (Langley), BC. She went on to become a longtime Port Coquitlam resident for 57 years. Bev had a career as an education assistant and science lab technician for the Richmond School Board. She was predeceased by her husband Melvin Harold Felske (May 5, 1933 – Sept. 18, 2012), whom she was married to for 49 years. Melvin was involved in Port Coquitlam (Poco) minor sports as a hockey, ringette and softball coach. In addition to being involved with the BC Ringette Association, Bev served many roles, including President and co-founder with the Port Coquitlam Ringette Association, the BC Snowmobile Federation, and ATV BC, which she also co-founded. Bev's passions including ensure that girls had an ice sport to play; advocating for trails to ride; and passing legislation for licensing and registration of ATV’s in our province. Bev and Melvin spent many happy years traveling the province and beyond in their motorhome and snow birding in Palm Springs, CA. Bev Felkse was inducted into the Ringette Canada Hall of Fame on December 22, 2022 and the BC Sports Hall of Fame in November 2023 as a Builder-Coach. Bev is the first person from the sport of ringette inducted into the BC Sports Hall of Fame. ADMINISTRATIVE HISTORY The material was collected by Bev Felske and passed onto Ringette BC in 2020 after her death. The material was donated to the West Coast Ringette Historical Society in 2021.
