Melvin was involved in Port Coquitlam (Poco) minor sports as a hockey, ringette and softball coach. In addition to being involved with the BC Ringette Association, Bev served many roles, including President and co-founder with the Port Coquitlam Ringette Association, the BC Snowmobile Federation, and ATV BC, which she also co-founded. Bev's passions including ensure that girls had an ice sport to play; advocating for trails to ride; and passing legislation for licensing and registration of ATV’s in our province. Bev and Melvin spent many happy years traveling the province and beyond in their motorhome and snow birding in Palm Springs, CA. Bev Felkse was inducted into the Ringette Canada Hall of Fame on December 22, 2022 and the BC Sports Hall of Fame in November 2023 as a Builder-Coach.
