Bev had a career as an education assistant and science lab technician for the Richmond School Board. She was predeceased by her husband Melvin Harold Felske (May 5, 1933 – Sept. 18, 2012), whom she was married to for 49 years. Melvin was involved in Port Coquitlam (Poco) minor sports as a hockey, ringette and softball coach. In addition to being involved with the BC Ringette Association, Bev served many roles, including President and co-founder with the Port Coquitlam Ringette Association, the BC Snowmobile Federation, and ATV BC, which she also co-founded. Bev's passions including ensure that girls had an ice sport to play; advocating for trails to ride; and passing legislation for licensing and registration of ATV’s in our province. Bev and Melvin spent many happy years traveling the province and beyond in their motorhome and snow birding in Palm Springs, CA. Bev Felkse was inducted into the Ringette Canada Hall of Fame on December 22, 2022 and the BC Sports Hall of Fame in November 2023 as a Builder-Coach. Title A name given to the resource BC Ringette Association Newsletter March 1983 Description An account of the resource Newsletter of the BC Ringette Association, March 1983 Issue No. 4. The 23 page newsletter has a cover with blue print and is black and white on the inside. The program lists the member associations of BC Ringette Association at the time, which include: Aldergrove, Fraser Lake, Howe Sound, Langley, North Shore, North West Vancouver, Port Coquitlam, Prince George, Richmond, and Vanderhoof. The newsletter was funded in part by the British Columbia Government through the Physical Fitness and Amateur Sport Fund. The inside of the newsletter includes the president's message (the president at the time was Keith Corney); a directory of ringette clubs including mailing addresses and phone numbers; important dates; news of a provincial workshop; AGM announcement; league tid bits; standings; an article about the history of ringette in BC; an explanation of ringette; photographs; updates from member organizations; an article from Tom Mayenknecht (Ringette Canada); an order form for ringette resources (including rule book, handbook, drill book, game sheets, pins, policy, newsletter subscription); official's signals; and advertisements.
